Approached through a quiet country road, the house is superbly situated for discovering the best that North Corfu offer. Apart from a single laid-back tavern with a magnificent sunset view (500 m from the house), the area is a virgin territory. A number of picturesque neighborhoods are within easy walking distance.
Getting around
Acharavi is just 2,5 Km away, offering a wide range of taverns and (beach)bars, as well as a number of supermarkets and local shops and a long stretch of sandy beach. For those wishing a quieter environment, the neighboring Almyros beach is a more relaxing one. For the early morning birds, hiking along the virgin paths becomes a ‘must’.
Popular destinations: Roda (5km), Kassiopi (10km) and Sidari (15km) are all well-known spots. The mountainous hinterland has a number of smaller and highly characteristic villages to visit, as well as the scenic monastery at the top of the Pantokrator mountain, with 980m the highest point of the island. A highly recommended excursion is a visit to the impressive, originally wealthy, mountain village of Old Peritheia (20km), where life is slowly coming back thanks to a few traditional taverns. The inimitable historic atmosphere of picturesque Corfu Town is less than an hour’s drive away (40km).
